A portion of the below grade sawmill support wall toward the stream side raceway had split apart, was undermined, and fallen away from its prior location.
Foundation Issues

Resolution

An attempt to straighten the stream side wall resulted in a crack -- the wall needed to be replaced. Removing the road side wall required excavating the wall and creating a sloped surface for safety. The H & K Group provided the technology and material to create a new sawmill foundation.

Crushed stone was placed between the foundation footers for mill wall support and to prevent water pooling.
An H-beam found onsite was cut and modified to span the opening in the foundation and support the coming sawmill floor.

The tail race slopes were evened up and then seeded with grass and covered with straw.
